*Joyce Grant Project
The Joyce Foundation supports public education in Chicago,
Cleveland, and Milwaukee. The Foundation looks for proposals that support
change for the better in each district. This Joyce Grant was presented to
The Chicago Park District and awarded to artist, Emily Gould, in August 2002.
The purpose of this Joyce Grant was to enhance the existing dedicated Early
Childhood Space. Large plywood, child-centered murals and cut outs, were painted
for the children's playroom. These murals and cutouts create a colorful and
fun atmosphere that stimulates the imagination and inspires learning. The
early childhood Joyce Grant was completed and installed at The Lincoln Park
Cultural Center in January 2003.
The Early Childhood Room was photographed by James Prinz.
